爱上 自驾 之 北海道 * 秋末

好些朋友希望我能分享 2016年 十月 北海道 之旅 的 itinerary 。由于两星期 cover 超过十个城市小镇，我决定做个总结以方便大家快速有个概念。
这是我们第一次到北海道，这行程表也许只适合初游者参考。
本人特别痴迷 秋天，所以 这次 北海道 自驾 主攻 秋叶大自然景色 autumn foliage。主要 cover Hokkaido central north, central & south.

High Level Itinerary:
Day 0 – 出发 乘 飞机
Day 1 & 2 - 層雲峽 Sōunkyō & 大雪山 Daisetsuzan
Day 3 & 4 - 旭川 Asahikawa, 美瑛 Biei & 富良野 Furano
Day 5 - 登別 Noboribetsu & 洞爺湖 Lake Toya
Day 6 & 7 - 函館 Hakodate
Day 8 & 9 - 積丹 Shakotan
Day 10 - 小樽 Otaru
Day 11 & 12 - 札幌 Sapporo
Day 13 - 乘 飞机 回家

Transport:
Air Asia X – direct flight between KLIA2 - Chitose 千歳 airport (nearest big city – Sapporo)
Honda car rent - Self Drive – Pick up from Chitose airport  collect car  drive around the journey and return car at Sapporo Honda office

Tips: 

• It is highly recommended to self-drive in Hokkaido, rarely see people and cars outside of city, not too many cars in cities too. Same driving side as Malaysia. 
• Fill up the form from English website, and Snip the promotion rate from Japanese website. Once got the confirmation email from Honda, reply the email and asked for the promotion rate as in Japanese website. I got 40% discount 
• Confirm ECT & HEP (For Malaysia, there are: smart tag machine & touch n’ Go card) all directly from Honda during booking. Easy and worry free. 
• Don’t forget to get the car insurance too. Pay when collect car.
• We walk a lot and use subway in Sapporo.

Accommodation:
Overall we love all the stays, it was marvelous! All very convenient, clean, excellent location and lovely. 

1. Choyo Resort Hotel

• 特别喜欢这里的自助晚餐，早餐的景色特别美丽。我们要求对着河流的房间，从窗望去景色怡人。房间的set up 分为两部分，一边是床，另一边是 tatami。特别喜欢睡tatami的我们当然不理会床了。Not forget to mention our favorite Onsen, since last Fujimen onsen experience in Tokyo in year 2014, we fall in love with ONSEN. I personally likes the outdoor onsen in this resort.

2. Court Hotel Asahikawa

• Extremely cheap and just a stone away from JR station and shopping mall. We use it as a base camp travel between Sōunkyō and Biei. So, it fulfills the requirement. 

3. Mr. GNU Pension

• Have to book thru email. Biei is an extremely lovely place. Mr. Yee wish to stay here for a few days to relax. The view from the pension is spectacular. Consider one of the cheapest in the area. Definitely will come back again!

4. Furano Natulux Hotel

• This is very modern hotel surrounding with restaurant. 

5. Daiwa Ryokan Annex

• Hotel room’s view is facing Lake Toya and comfortable. We just not really into Lake Toya. For next visit to Hokkaido, we will skip Lake Toya. Hahaha…

6. Pension Yumekukan 夢空館

• Beautiful wooden Pension. We stayed 2 nights here in the middle of the journey, so we manage to wash our clothes here and continue the 2nd half of the journey.

7. Nagominoyado Iida

• Highly recommend! We love this “special lodging” very much! Good food!!! Quiet, Nice tatami, nice bath and nice experience even they hardly speak a single English word. Very close to Cape Kamui.

8. Hotel Nord Otaru

• Classic European room set up, spacious and right in front Otaru Canal with reasonable price.

9. Watermark Hotel Sapporo

• Strategic location, right on 狸小路 Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade, next to money changer, just a few steps to the bus stop of CHUO bus to airport. Surrounding with good food and you can shop until drop. The hotel is new and modern. Extremely good price if do advanced booking thru japanican.com Definitely will come back again.

10. Air Terminal Hotel

• Due to early morning flight, we decided to leave Saporro the night before flying off. We stayed inside the air terminal, you are right, the airplane just park in front of our room, we see them clearly from room windows, feel like in the boarding hall. Hahaha! The hotel room rate inclusive airport onsen which is quite good onsen, they provide outdoor onsen too. It is convenient and no need to worry missed flight and have to wake up early. If I book earlier, I would rather stay inside airport onsen http://www.new-chitose-airport-onsen.com/ . Tips: have to book in a few months ahead to secure the room. If you don’t mind, you can actually buy the overnight onsen ticket, the place is comfortable. We would try this for coming Hokkaido trip.
